Handmade in Jalan Besar

Ceramics for the slow moments

Each piece is thrown by hand in my small studio, made in limited batches for those who find beauty in the imperfect. The finger marks, the slight wobble, the way glaze pools unevenly — these are the signs of something real.

Potter's hands shaping clay on the wheel in the studio

"I started Clay & Ember because I wanted to make things that people would reach for every morning — objects that gather meaning over time."

My studio is a small room off Jalan Besar, filled with natural light and the quiet rhythm of the wheel. I work alone, in small batches, letting each piece find its own shape rather than forcing it to match a template.

The imperfections you see — the slight wobble, the finger marks, the way glaze drips unevenly — these are the traces of a human hand. They're how you know this object was made by someone who cared about how it would feel in yours.
