From our first conversation to the moment you hold your piece, here's how we bring your vision into form.
The Making
I throw, trim, and shape your piece in the Jalan Besar studio. If you'd like, I'll send updates—photos of the wet clay, the first firing, the glaze settling into place.
The Firing
Drying, bisque firing, glazing, and the final kiln firing. This is nature's timeline, not mine. The clay tells us when it's ready.
The Handover
Local pickup from the studio, where you can see where your piece was born. Or careful packaging for delivery, wrapped like the treasure it is.
Patience & Process
Custom pieces take 6–8 weeks minimum, sometimes longer depending on the complexity and the kiln's mood. Clay must dry slowly to prevent cracking—rushing this stage guarantees cracks later. My kiln fires only twice a month, and each glaze requires testing before it touches your piece.
This is not a factory timeline. This is the rhythm of earth, water, fire, and time.

What I Can (and Cannot) Do
- Kiln dimensions limit maximum size—larger pieces are possible but require discussion
- Available clay bodies: stoneware (cream, speckled), porcelain (white, translucent)
- Glaze palette follows my current collection colors—view the shop for reference
- I cannot replicate another artist's work exactly, but I can create something in conversation with your inspiration

Studio & Logistics
Location
My studio is in Jalan Besar, Singapore. Local pickup is preferred—you'll see where your piece was made, and we'll have a moment to meet. Careful courier delivery is available across Singapore.
Payment
Custom orders require a 50% deposit to cover materials and studio time. The balance is due on completion, before pickup or delivery. I'll send an invoice with all details once we agree on the scope.
A gentle note: once your piece enters the kiln for its first firing, the work becomes non-refundable. Clay is transformed by fire, and there's no undoing that magic. I'll keep you updated at every stage so there are no surprises.
Questions You Might Have
No—and honestly, that's the beauty of it. I can create something in conversation with your inspiration, but my hands, my clay, and my glazes will make it uniquely yours. The slight asymmetry, the way the glaze pools, the thumbprint in the base—these are the marks of a piece that no factory could replicate.
Sometimes clay has other plans—temperature shifts, air bubbles, the mysterious will of the kiln gods. If a piece cracks due to my error in construction or firing, I'll remake it once at no extra charge. If it survives (and most do), you know it's been through fire and come out stronger.
Yes, unless we specifically discuss a decorative-only piece. All my functional ware is made with food-safe clays and lead-free glazes. I test my glazes for durability and safety. If you have specific concerns about microwaves or dishwashers, let me know and I'll guide you to the right choices.
Limited availability, but yes—by appointment. I keep irregular hours around the kiln schedule and my own rhythms. If you'd prefer to meet face-to-face, mention it in your enquiry and we'll find a time. There's nothing quite like running your fingers over glaze samples and holding test tiles up to the light.
